Kaiya started a very nasty habit back in June of biting her finger nails. I am ready to pull my hair out. I immediately went to Walgreens and bought that "Thum" stuff for finger nail biters and thumb suckers. It is suppose to be really nasty and make them not want to bite. However, what does my kid do . . . YeP! You guessed it . . . she continues to bite her nails and says . . . "NuMmY" when she has that stuff on it. And if it isn't on it she will even say, "ORANGE NAILS?" It is orange in color in the bottle. So, yeah! The nasty stuff tastes great to my 2 year old, I finally read what was in there . . . . Cayenne pepper! Now come on, maybe to an average bland diet toddler that would taste bad . . . but, my 2 year old will east spoonfuls of garlic . . . yes . . . spoonfuls of minced garlic! She asks for onion pieces anytime I am cutting onions up. And will chow down half my onion while I am trying to chop it. So, here I am 2 months later with my toddler still biting her finger nails and they are basically down to nothing. I have tried painting them pretty to see if she will stop with that . . . oh nOpE!! Why would having pretty nails stop her! I am so ready to scream!! She had the nicest nails on her hands, now they are ugly!! Do we have any ideas how to get her to stop!! Don't say ignore it, we have tried that too!!

LEGO GRAND TOWER`
Tonight while cooking dinner, I suddenly heard Kaiya yelling at me from the basement. I didn't quite understand in 2 year old what she was after. But, soon Prasan said, "she wants to you to come see what she built." So, I headed downstair to find that the two of them had built a very, very tall tower. Kaiya has been on an attempt to build tall towers lately. So, here is what they were able to do. I had to take a picture because she was so excited about it all.
Back to the Beach in California
Our good friend Karina, whom we stayed with, took us to come beautiful beaches. We tormented Kaiya with the first visit to the beach being just for a picnic. We took her stretch pants off and let her play in her shirt in the water for a minute. Then, we headed to San Diego. The second trip was our real trip to the beach and it was a blast. Karina took us to little Coronado, it was the perfect blend of sand and rock tide pools. Prasan had a blast showing Kaiya all the hermit crabs and other sea life. They got to do a lot of holding and looking. She would look but wanted nothing to do with touching the things. Here are some picture from the first trip and from the second trip to the beach. Now, when ever Kaiya sees a picture of the beach, she says, "Go to beach NOW!" Yes, it is a command, not a request. I have to sadly tell her, as much as I would like to live by the beach, we don't have a beach in AZ. Unlucky we are . . . .

Disneyland California Pictures
Ok, I loaded them all about a week ago. And the computer froze. Needless to say I was not a happy camper. So, here go the rest of the picture we took while in California . . . well, not all of them, just the good ones.
Family Picture with Mickey Mouse, Kaiya loved meeting Mickey and Minnie Mouse
Prasan took Kaiya on the Dumbo ride. She loved it. She was so excited and wanted a PURPLE Dumbo. Go figure, the kid loves purple. Prasan was sweating it a little worried about getting purple. Luckily a boy already in a purple realized he was in a purple and wanted out. So, they jumped in!

Even More Pictures of California
Here are the rest of the good photos we took on our trip to California. The beach and Disneyland were a hit with Kaiya. Prasan even enjoyed Disneyland. A few complaints about lines to the rides (he has never been to a place like that so he doesn't realize that is what it is all about). He even lived through Space Mountain. In each ride he wanted to know exactly what it was about, we finally had to say, "listen that is part of the ride. YOu just go and find out." We had fun. Enjoy the pictures

California
For our birthdays, we took a trip to California. It has beena fun time so far. We aren't going home until Tuesday. We have visited the Mormon Battlion Exhibit and gone to the beach. Kaiya loves the beach. We took sometime moving past the rocks to the actual ocean and sand . . . but, she loved it. She would run squealing from the waves as they came near her feet. It was too much fun. We think we have gotten a lot of great pictures. I will update more picture when we get home.
We are hitting Disneyland on Monday . . . we found some connections from our friend . . . we couldn't pass up disneyland for FREE!!! We are sure we will have a blast there tomorrow. Kaiya can't wait to meet Mickey Mouse.

Camera's BACK - - Luau Birthday Party
Ok, the camera arrived and yes, I have new pictures to post! We went to our friends (old neighbors) little girl's 1st Birthday party. It was lots of fun. Kaiya had a blast. I got some cute pictures. They are from Hawaii, so we hit it off when we moved in because of the Hawaii connection. Then, we came to realize Roy (the dad) is the most handy little neighbor to have around. Can't even tell one the number of times he and his tools have come to our rescue. We keep trying to drag them to AZ with us. It isn't working, they keep trying to get us back to Las Vegas . . . isn't working.
Here are the pictures of that Luau 1st Birthday Party! Kaiya had a blast! From pin the tail on the donkey, to the party favors and noise makers, the pinata, and of course present opening. I seriously think she had more fun that this party than she has ever at any party (that doesn't say much for me as a party planner does it?). My favorite picture is of her holding up one of the outfits Alayna got and doing a wide open "OOOOOooooHHHHHH" as she ran around showing it to everyone!! What? I have a girl for a kid? No I don't! Ha ha! She is such a GIRL!!
HUGGING THE BIRTHDAY GIRL!!
Pin the Tail on the Donkey (no, she isn't blind folded, wouldn't have any of that!!)
"OOOOOOOoooooOOOoooHHHhhhhhhhhh" and running to show it to everyone!
