A little funny from a darn cute kid. Last Thursday, my parents came into town for a few days out of town. As we were driving to their home, Kaiya told me about "Fun Friday" at school, the kids can buy pickles, popcorn, water, etc for fifty cents each. She asked if she could have some money to buy a pickle and some water. I told her I would give her a dollar, only to discover I didn't have a dollar on me at the time. I then suggested we ask if we could borrow a dollar from Granddad when we got there.
A few minutes into arriving at Grammy and Granddad's house, I remind Kaiya that she is going to ask Granddad to borrow a dollar, and mom will pay him back. He told her sure, and sent her to get a dollar from his money. Kaiya grabbed her money, stuck it in her pocket, and headed out. I got an early morning phone call about a situation.
I was concerned and asked what the situation was . . . apparently it had become understood that Granddad had given Kaiya one hundred dollars. I assured them my father wouldn't give my six year old one hundred dollars. I was then told Kaiya had two fifty dollar bills . . . suddenly everything CLICKED!!!
Kaiya knew she needed 50 cents for a pickle and 50 cents for a water. So, she did the LOGICAL thing and took two things that have the number 50 on them . . . too bad they were $50 bills!! Needless to say, we began to laugh and laugh. Just happy it was caught before se got to school with $100.
