Favorite Color and Food Allergies

I don't know if I have mentioned before that Kaiya has a favorite color. But, she does. She is very OBSESSED with items that are this color! Yes, I mean obsessed, very, very, very obsessed!

We attended Gymboree weekly and the drill goes something like this every week. Take shoes off, enter play area, begin search, find all thing my favorite color, procede to hold all things of that color all at once for the entire hour, and no matter what do not let anyone have them! Below is a picture I snapped of her at Gymboree of her favorite color. This is the least number of things she had of the color, we got a few away during clean up. She is too funny!!

Realizing our picture was being taken, we had to go sit in the PURPLE inner tube and say "CHEESE."

The following picture is just of Kaiya at Walmart. She decided she was cold, how you could be cold at 90 degrees outside, I am not sure! But, this is what happens when you are with mom and cold! No, I didn't own that sweatshirt in the picture, but decided to buy it! Ha ha! Doesn't she look a little "Star Wars" like, jedi with the hood up? She loved it!!

The other good news! I decided to take Kaiya to an allergist at the beginning of September, I wanted to know just how bad her allergy was and if we could possible see her out growing it! Well, after a really nasty blood test, I am talking the kind that a two year old still talks about three weeks later, and a three week wait, we have some answers! The answers we delivered to us in a room with PURPLE chairs! Kaiya was so excited to sit on the PURPLE chairs in the examine room! That made her day! Anyway, we discovered a new allergy as well! Kaiya is allergic to eggs, however her allergy level is such that only 20 percent of the people at this level actually react. Kaiya happens to be part of the 80 percent who have no reaction to the eggs! Thank goodness!! Peanuts, the dreaded peanut allergy! Her levels of the peanut allergy are the same story. She is allergic to a level that only 20% of the people who have it react to it. Because so few people react, she has greater chances to outgrow it! So, we are pushing for OUTGROWING!! How boring would life be with NO PB&J!! So, in one year, we are going to give her a skin test for peanuts and if she has no reaction to that, they are going to "challenge" her! "Challenge" is allergist talk for feed her some peanuts and see what happens! But, they do it in a very controled environment!! So, here is hoping for OUTGROWIN'!! I was EXCITED about the OUTGROWING possibility and she was EXCITED about the PURPLE CHAIRS!!!

Halloween Already?!?!?

Seems like just yesterday I was purchasing the raggedy anne costume for Halloween! Another year has already gone by and I have learned that it isn't what mom wants her to be anymore! Kaiya has developed an opininon of her own! Imagine that! I was planning on her being Snow White for Halloween because she has the perfect length hair for it, the perfect eye color for it, it seemed to be a natural fit. However, when we got to the store to look . . . Kaiya saw the Minnie Mouse ears and dress! I guess you could say that was that! I tried to persuade her with the beautiful dress of Snow White, but we were having nothing of it! We went in with our cousins and the intention to just look. As you can tell, we came out with the whole costume! Well, I have always said to get the good costumes you have to plan things out EARLY!! And this is actually later than I purchased the Raggedy Anne costume last year!

What are you planning on being for Halloween? Do you dress up?

No Camera, Old Pictures, New Tricks

Ok, I am going absolutely crazy! My camera got sand in it at the beach in CA. I took it into get fixed, they "fixed" it. However, every picture had these really weird striped look to them . . . like alternating columns of light and dark. So, it is back in the shop and I am stuck with no fun pictures to post! I am really sad! Wish me luck that I have it back and it is functioning before the big trip to our ancestral home in China! We only have a month to go!! YEAH! Exciting!

However, I just got some pictures from a friend of our trip to Utah and they are quite cute! Figured I would share two or three. We did have lots of fun! Wish I was there. So, enjoy these of Wheeler farms.

Next, Kaiya has learned a new trick! Yes! She is able to count to 10!! I am so excited! She is so cute about doing it! She doesn't get the "f" on five so it is ive. But, she counts to 10! It is great! And she loves the number nine. Things are always nine. We are working on her ABCs and have a little ways to go, but she will join is quietly for the end of the ABC song.

Today, she was playing with her alphabet magnets and came up to me with the I and the H. She had the H tipped on it's side and said, "Mama, both I's" Now, how absolutely smart was that to find two I's. We have been working on alike and different. So, I did the whole praise she was smart enough to tip the H on its side and make it an I. Then, we reviewed the letter names and sounds! I was quite impressed! I know, I am probably extremely biases. . . but, oh well!

She also has started saying, "too hot for me." when we go out side! Cracks me up! If you ask if she wants to go to the park, she will say, "Purple park in Iho, Madis and Kenz" - - - LET ME TRANSLATE! "Purple park in Idaho by Madison and McKenzie." Doing pretty good! Then, I have to explain that fun purple park we went to CLEAR in JUNE is far away and we can't drive there and back in a day. Too much fun!

Finally, the trick I hope that last until she is at least 25 years old! If there is a boy near where she is playing she will do one of two things A) point to them and say, "BOY!" and then RUN AWAY or B) say "NO BOYS! NO BOY!!!" Yes, it is really quite humorous! Now if I can just bridle that same feeling into her teens, I would have life set!

The Debate is OVER!!!

Ok, we have scientifically proven that Kaiya is equally parts of Janan and Prasan. Lots of people have put in their opinions. And they are always either just like dad or just like mom! So, according to the "LOOK A LIKE" meter, she is equal parts of us! Which I can totally see. This was fun to see what it said! CRAZY!! Everyone should go try it!
