We have had quite the day today!! It started while we were both at school!! Mom took her kids to the playground around 1 p.m. There were clouds and we agreed at the first sound of thunder or sign of lightning we were headed back in! We left for the classroom, and by the time we got to the classroom, the rain started! Mom had a parent helper who ran to shut the windows in her car all the way! Well, about 15 minutes later, mom checked her classroom door to make sure a knocking she heard wasn't the parent helper! When she opened the door, the wind grabbed ahold of the door, blew it open, and mom had to try to pull it shut! As she tried to pull it shut, the rain came down in buckets accompanied by hail stone . . . or maybe I should say ICE DROPS . . . solid ice!! The kids in mom's class all giggled a ton because mom looked like as they said, "You took a shower with your clothes on!" Yes, in that little time, I was drenched I was able to wring out tons of water from my pants and shirt . . . and I was still sopping wet!! 3 hours later, I was still wet and cold!!
I picked Bug up at school, and she giggled that my clothes were wet! I asked if she got to see the hail stones. She didn't! She was a bit bummed. We came home, got mom out of her wet clothes, put her in the warm bath, and Kaiya had a snack! After the warm bath, they both drank hot coco!
Just as bug was drifting off to sleep tonight, we heard loud pounding! She wanted to see what it was . . . . so, I got her out of bed, turned on the lights in our backyard, and saw the rain and huge hail stones coming down in the tons!! Mom grabbed an umbrella, snuck out in it all, and picked up a few stone for Kaiya to see close up! She was so excited! So, we took a picture of them. She wants her cousins in Idaho, and her Grammy and Granddad to see what we got tonight! So, here is Kaiya with her treasures for the evening . . . they are now in the freezer!!
