Fabulous 4th of July

We had a busy 4th of July! But, it sure was FUN!!! Kaiya was so excited to get to sleep in the travel trailer! We woke up and headed to breakfast at 7 a.m. While it wasn't quite the same as the 2 a.m. pancake breakfast of my childhood. It was lots of fun to eat pancake breakfast at the fire house!

After breakfast, we wondered to the other side of the fire house and attended the flag raising ceremony! It was a very touching ceremony!! My great uncle, Kaiya's great, great uncle, is a WWII veteran. The new mayor of Grantsville, decided it would be great to honor the veterans who have created and sustained this great country with their service and some even with their lives! He was honored during the ceremony, along with other Veteran's. I learned so much about his service, however not nearly as much as I wanted too. He brought a bundle of his memorabila down and shared it and stories. However, it was while the carnival at the park was happening . . . and, I wanted to be there to listen to his memories . . . but, couldn't because I had a 5 year old who wanted to be at the carnival. He was also one of the Grand Marshals of the parade!! They did a fabulous write up of his service in the local paper! We are so proud to have a few Veterans in our life from various conflicts, and a few servicemen who may have never seen conflict, but they served and were willing if needed!!!

We were treated to an audio history of the national anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner" at the flag raising. If you have NEVER researched or heard the history of our great national anthem I encourage you to research it out!! Nothing could possibly make you more proud to be a citizen of this great country than the brave men who kept the Flag above the rampart. It was moving!

Post flag raising ceremony, we hustleed to get out of our pajamas and into our red, white, and blue attire!! We got to once again piggy back off my aunts, uncles, and cousins that all live in Utah! And as promised, next time we get to celebrate with all of you, we will contribute to the party!! I promise!! Kaiya joined in the celebrations enjoying picking up candy, and even tossed a few water balloons!!!

My Great uncle, is the gentleman in the cowboy hat.
After the parade, we headed to the park! Where we were kindly included on the spread of food, drink, and sweets provied by my extended family before we headed to the games and booths!! My cousin Meg saved me a few bucks and painted Kaiya's face for me! Thanks MEGS!! (you owe me pictures! LOL!) We played and played till about 5 p.m.
After the park, we had some down time. We spent it trying to rest! But, there wasn't much of that to be found at Uncle Cory's! Rest can always happen another day! So, we headed to the travel trailer, at my parents property! There we lit of a few of our own fireworks, glow worms, sparklers, fountains, and the little pop things you throw.
Finally, it was time for the BIG FIREWORK SHOW!! Can I say, we couldn't have had better SEATS!! I know exactly where I am going from now on! My parents property sit just south of the park, we could hear the music, and the fireworks exploded right over our head!! Front row seats without the CROWD, the traffic, and in the comfort of our own space!! All the pictures of the fireworks I took without zooming!! I mean they were right on top of us!!!

Post fireworks, Kaiya enjoyed the final few sparklers before heading off to bed!! I think she truly got to experience an All-American 4th of July!! And it was fabulous to spend it with lots of family!!!

I'm so glad your 4th was so awesome! Any chance you'll be in Idaho around July 31st?
