Then 1996-1997 . . . Now 2009

I was treated to a wonderful treat last week, one of my best friends from college and a roommate came to visit for the week! While I totally feel cheated because I only got to see her in the evenings, it was better than nothing.

In Fall of 1996, there were 3 girls starting their freshman year at BYU-Hawaii. They had never met before, but formed a great bond! Two of them Shalon and Erica were roommates that first semester, the other two had a common home town (Erica and I). Soon, we discovered we were inseparable . . . well, nearly! One seemed to find her way a little apart from the group upon losing a deal that if you kissed anyone you had to buy the other two ice cream! She stuck with that someone , and Erica returned home after that first semester! However, no matter the distance or the time that has passed, the three of us formed a forever friendship! It seems like we have so many characteristics in common, however, at the right time the others always seem to shine in one that you need to help with at the moment! There is no doubt that Erica and Shalon are forever friends, no matter what roads our lives may take, we can always count on each other to be there!!

Erica and Shalon got to catch up during the day, while I joined them in the evening, for memorable moments! Not to metion I would stay up a little delirious at night chatting with Shalon (she too was delirious)! We had a good time! I just wish I could have been around for all the fun during the day!

Moments of our friendship!!

To these two fabulous women, I am so grateful to have you in my life as friends! I look up to each of you for all the wonderful strengths you posses, the examples you set, and the love you give! You both have enriched my life . . . to all the years past of friendship and the many more in the future!! Love ya both!!! Shalon, thanks for driving 13 hours each way to make last week possible!!
