The last two days we were in Utah, we had a LOT of ACTIVITY!!! Dad came to translate conference on Saturday morning. We were going to meet him for lunch, however, there was only going to be about 15 minutes between him arriving and needing to be at the conference center. So, we decided dinner would give us more time and we could possible meet up with our fellow Sri Lankan friends from Idaho.
So, since we didn't go to lunch with Dad. We went to Kaiya's Great Great Uncle Jack's 90th Birthday open house! Which was lots of fun for Kaiya because she met a new friend, also her third cousin! Am I weird? Yes, I am very close to my family. Many of my friends in Utah, are also a relative . . . however we were friend and then discovered we were cousins! Needless to say I love having a close relationship with my cousins!! I wish that we lived in Utah or Kaiya's new friend lived in Arizona so that could play more often than once a year!!

Kaiya's new friend, "she same size same age me"
We left the party early and headed to Salt Lake to meet up with Dad while he had a break from translating between the afternoon conference session and the priesthood session. We ate at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in the same room we had our wedding reception in.
Our Idaho friends and their kids!
After dinner, we walked dad to the conference center (almost) and then looked around the Temple grounds. Kaiya asked if "Is Heavnly Fater asleep in His house?" She knows the Temple is the house of the Lord! Very cute the literal translation a 2 year old makes of that! She then said, "I want to talk to Heavnly Fater!" I then explained when she says her prayers she is talking to Heavenly Father. It was really special!
OH! That is the other BIG FIRST! While in Utah, she said her prayer for herself for the first time. Well, you know the parent whispers it in their ear and they repeat. She did add a thing of her own. We were blessing relatives and she interjected "Bless Gus" on her own. Gus, is my brother's dog! Kaiya loves him!! It was so cute!!
I just love the little girl!!

Isn't it amazing how much they understand at such a young age? I can't believe that she is already saying prayers on her own. That is awesome that Prasan translated for conference.
Wow... Conference is over. I cannot believe it. Janan thank you for the picture you have posted on your blog. I love that picture. It was wonderful to see you all and the moment we got to have dinner with everybody. Prasan did a marvelous job in translating the conference. Anyway, keep in touch.
