Kaiya and I got to enjoy an adventure to Idaho over the weekend. We left right after school on Thursday and intended to come home on Monday night. My mom goes to a scrap booking retreat up there every year at this time and invited me to come. We had quite the adventure.
In our transfer of planes in Salt Lake, Kaiya got to see her suitcase unloaded from the airplane out her window! She was so thrilled to see it and it helped her understand where her suitcase goes while we are in the plane. She announced to the entire plane, "THERE'S MY SUITCASE!! That is MINE!" It was funny!!
Flew in to West Yellowstone, which can I say is so much better than flying into Idaho Falls with an intention to go to the cabin. It is about an hour and a half drive from the IF airport to the cabin and only a half hour drive from the West Yellowstone airport to the cabin.
Kaiya had an adventure with her Granddad while Mom was scrap booking. They had to take a load to the ranch on a trailer. They didn't make it all the way. They got a flat from the load weight and had to wait in the middle of no where for rescue! As Kaiya says, "Granddad said, "Be PATIENT with HIM." She had lots of fun playing at the side of the road while they waited for HELP to arrive!! And wanted so badly to help change the tire when a spare arrived. But, Granddad kept staying, "STAND BACK Kaiya STAND BACK!" She did confess that she got dirt on her hands! So silly! She enjoyed seeing the "Ranch CATS." We had two previously, named Tiger and Cutie Pie (or is it Sweetie Pie - it was named one name by cousin M2, but Kaiya calls it the other and it has been called both so much I don't remember the original). Cousin M1 adopted a cat named MILO, but Kaiya has lovingly called it MARSHMALLOW!!
The other news, when we went to see Uncle Cary at his house for his birthday before leaving, he asked Kaiya if she wanted a horse. He had a horse to give her if she wanted it. Kaiya is in love with horses! She said, "YES!" The following conversation ensued . . .
UC: What are you going to name it??
K: Rainbow
UC: We aren't having an horses named RAINBOW
K: Rain
UC: That is M1 horses name
K: Red
UC: That is a good name!!
Well, there is a little colt at the ranch that G&G (grammy and granddad) think might be the horse we were previously talking about. Kaiya was so EXCITED to see RED! So, I hope it is the one! When leaving, the hung out the truck window and stared at that horse and finally said, "Good bye RED, I love you RED!"
I got lots done at the retreat - - 28 pages of Kaiya's first year done!! I am now only 3 years behind! Ha! ha! Do you ever really catch up?!?!??
Kaiya seems to FIND MISCHEIF at the cabin! I don't know how, but she does. For instance when she was 15 months old, she hid her tennis shoe on the lazy susan. We were unable to find it for an entire day!! During the same visit she unrolled an entire roll of toilet paper! This time, well . . . she found something new to do with the tissue from the Kleenex box!
But MOSTLY we ENJOYED getting to actually SEE FALL!! I love FALL! I love the colors!! So, here are a few pictures - - YES! OH GREAT MORE TO SCRAPBOOK - - of us trying to CAPTURE FALL!!! Enjoy!!
