Kaiya has an unwitting ability to kick a ball! I can't remember a time she hasn't been able to simply kick a ball, except for pre walking. She was never one of those kids that missed and fell to her bottom when she aimed to kick! So, we signed her up for soccer for two reasons:
- She can kick!
- She is a fast runner!
So, we head to soccer on Friday with Grammy. We arrive, and wait for a while. Soccer starts, Kaiya jumps right in. Then, she gets to a skill she can't do right off and we have a little melt down. This melt down leads to a "I can't do it. I don't want to." This action causes the reaction of Grammy leaving the gym. Once Grammy leaves we have the whole "I want my Grammy." set of the melt down. Which leads to mom saying, "Remember how we talked about no one likes to be around you when you act like this. Grammy left because she doesn't like how you are acting." Well . . . Grammy even has to leave the waiting area because Kaiya can see her through the glass! We do our best to finish our first "practice."
At the end, the coach had them RACE and Kaiya started to and then ended up with the "I want my Grammy" and walked to rest of the way. So, grammy had her race her! It went better!! We enjoyed soccer, but we really like our Grammy!!
Here is the RACE - - she started out strong and died at the exclamation "I WANT MY GRAMMY!"

So, grammy had her race her! Barefoot and all - - have I mentioned what a AWESOME GRAMMY MY MOM IS?? I waited 18 years to have my own kid watching my mom be an AMAZING Grammy from the first day 21 years and some months ago!
