Like Mother . . . .
Like Daughter!
Explanation:
In college, when I had long hair (and of course curly because it is a curse I have had my entire life), during LATE NIGHTS of STUDYING in my dorm room, I ONCE . . . okay maybe twice, brushed my curls out to get this look. I then would travel to my CLOSE friends dorms, the other two musketeers and maybe Mykan's for a good laugh and quick visit with them. I must say, my Polynesian friends and neighbors were always REALLY happy to see I could "FRO" my hair just as good as them as I traveled through the dorms!
Yesterday, I did Kaiya hair in a pony tail with lots of little twisty buns. Before bed, we took them out and brushed her hair out! All this was simply in an attempt to avoid snarls! And we got the same look that I wore a time or two in my SILLY college days!!
Can I just add one thing . . . if I could go back and tell myself a few things I didn't know then . . . like you really are quite pretty and you aren't fat or even on the verge! HOWEVER, STOP RAIDING THE CANDY MACHINE AT 2 A.M. to save us later on!! Keep jogging NO MATTER how tired you are when you get home from work or at the days end of being a mommy! You are beautiful!! ENJOY THIS TIME - - don't be in such a rush to grow up and get on with life!

You did that once on the mission too.... "The Big Haired Sister Companionship"...... :)
If I could lift things I would get the picture out to prove your wild hair days in Detroit!
That is some cool hair Janan!
Love the advice. I think we all would have a thing or two to tell our younger selves! Luckily we can tell our own kids, but they will probably look at us like we looked at our own parents, "ya sure, ok".
You punk! You had me laughing so hard I started contracting.... DON'T DO THAT!! The whole arm pit comment and dill weed name calling thing is still making me giggle as I write!
I love your humor and I love your Afro! I really wish your hair was still long so you could do that. If you did that with the short do you'd just look like an old lady....
I do love your hair long though, I think you should grow it back out. Maybe we should have a contest to see who can grow it the longest, that might inspire both of us to NOT cut it!
What's new with you this week??? I love you girl and I can't wait to come back and visit. I am planning a trip back this spring because I KNOW you won't come to Grand Junction before then :) Plus I need to do more shopping at that awesome second hand store!!!
Nan,
Love the fro, love that you are comfortable enough to show it to the world! You are so cute, Kaiya's fro is way cute too! Hope you are doing well!
