Quirks, Perfectionism, Grammy, and Addictions

I have thought of ANOTHER QUIRK. . . and well, I may go delete my #7 on the tag! So, here is my confessional for this Sunday.

1 - I am a PERFECTIONIST (or could you tell already??)! No, not in the way you think . . . I don't have to look perfect. To my mom's horror, I go most days without make up (and everyday without lipstick), with my hair in a ponytail, and to my dad's horror in jeans and a t-shirt! So, no perfectionism doesn't run through to my personal appearance . . . I wish I had more style and grace, but I always seem to fall into the same rut of jeans, t-shirt, little or no make up, and hair in pony tail! So, if anyone would like to assist me in getting some style . . . go for it!!

No, my perfectionism runs over into wanting to have things totally planned out and needing things to go perfect! Examples:

1 - My mission - I had to be totally perfect or I was no good! AKA, I couldn't rest if I was sick, I had to be up at 6:00 not, 6:00:10 sec, everything had to be perfect!

Latest Perfect example, I have been planning out Kaiya's outfit for tomorrow since last THURSDAY! Tomorrow, Monday is her first SCHOOL PICTURE and first CLASS picture! In my mind, she has to look PERFECT! Of course, any day of the week as soon as she rolls out of bed she is PERFECT! But, I must have prepared and placed her in the perfect outfit and done her hair perfect! Little muff is currently asleep in rag curlers . . . she got Saturday night off! Her bow has been made . . . get this, I have never made a PLAIN PINK bow! And her outfit is picked out, Grammy's opinion given (after receving an e-mail full of pictures of possible outfits), and ready to go! One of the pictures I took as we tested out outfits for the pictures tomorrow!

2 - Yes, Grammy . . . funny thing! As much as I was a pain to my mom in my teenage years, funny thing has it, she is one of my best friends now! I love talking to her about everything! In my teenage years, well we didn't speak more than needed because . . . . I WAS A TEENAGER!! Did you know that MOM'S really do KNOW best?!?!?? I don't think I was completely a NIGHTMARE of a CHILD, but I think if I could go back, there are LOTS of things I would do different in how I treated my mom. I love her!

I probably have RAVED over my mom before, but can I just tell you how fabulous she is! My mom LOVES UNCONDITIONALLY!! Thank goodness because I can think of more than myself in our family that would be in TROUBLE if she didn't. My mom may be disappointed in choices we make, but she loves us all the same and does all she can to support us! My mom not only loves family, she LOVES her COUNTRY, community, and friends! She is such a wonderful example of giving of yourself to those around you! She is a person who extends the same unconditional to friends as she does to family.

Of course, then there is the BEST GRAMMY IN THE WORLD title that goes to GRAMMY aka MY MOM!! She would walk to the END of the WORLD for her GRANDDAUGHTERS!! I think she definitely would have had her 5 BEAUTIFUL Granddaughters first if she had had a choice! I can't even begin to explain the things she does for them and how she loves them! A perfect example is the "fights" that occur to be able to be the ONE or LUCKY TWO that get to sleep next to Grammy at the CABIN! The TWO or THREE STATES she will drive through to be at ANYONE'S DANCE RECITALS and COMPETITIONS! I mean EVERY SINGLE ONE - - not just once a YEAR! She would do it WEEKLY just so she can be there for these cute granddaughters!! She really does go to the ends of the earth to be there and love them! She is just a SUPER FABULOUS GRAMMY and MOM!!

3 - ADDICTIONS!! I am EXCITED to ANNOUNCE that with the HELP of Grammy . . . she didn't realize she was HELPING - - I have KICKED my VANILLA COKE HABIT!! Yes, that is correct!! When I left to Idaho on Thursday the 25th of August, I UNKNOWINGLY had my LAST VANILLA COKE! We headed to the scrapbooking retreat and the only DRINK options were ice tea, lemonade, water, and a never ending supply of HOT COCOA!! Every meal, I had WATER to drink, at night and for breakfast I sipped a NICE HOT CUP of COCOA! I have now been home for 6 days where a VANILLA COKE is available if wanted and I have kept MY WILL POWER up and not had one!! YEAH!!! So, I am running on 10 days of being CLEAN of VANILLA COKE and any other CAFFEINATED product! WHEW!! I had to celebrate!!

NO YOU WON'T BE BACK!! I hope . . . will power!!

Next, will be my SWEET TOOTH ADDICTION and hopefully a little INFUSING of my ONCE LOVE, HAD TO HAVE, NIGHTLY RUN!! Realizing at my current size I will have to BUILD UP TO IT . . . which is my hindrance, I'm not really looking forward to having people laugh at the obese woman trying to run as I start! So, that is my one thing that is deterring me right now!WISH my LUCK and WILL POWER!!!

I love the picture of Kaiya, she is absolutely beautiful! I also love that you're a perfectionist! I loved you as a missionary and I love you know as a friend! You are an AMAZING individual and the only thing about this perfectionist thing is that it prevents you from seeing how amazing you really are!

Your love for your Mother is very evident, even before you posted this blog about her. I really look forward to meeting her one day!

And as for kicking the habit good on ya! May the force be with you with the running bit, hats off, i know i tried and seem to have the hardest time sticking to a exercise routine, but everytime i look in the mirror, or down at the cheesecake.....hahah you know!! Hey and as for the whole style dressing up thing, i know exactly how you feel, i dress so bad some of the new members of my ward didnt believe i am not a stay at home mom and go to work everyday! haha, i was not offended, to me its all about comfort and if you are comfortable and modest, why change that?
