Okay . . . I have to vent! I am sorry . . . you all get to hear all about it!!
First, I am a doll collector by virtue of my mom! My room at her house is filled with dolls, that one day I hope to have place for at my house. Until then, thank you mom for storing my stuff! With this, my mom has also instilled a love of Madame Alexander dolls! I LOVE THEM!!
There is also a tradition in our family that Santa always leaves a doll on Christmas morning!! So, two years ago, Santa left this really cute Madame Alexander doll for Christmas! Kaiya has loved the cute thing . . . . she takes super good care of her stuff too! Well, a little while ago, at no fault of Kaiya's, this doll had it a leg broken off! Really, can you blame two friends for both wanting it at the same time. Anyway, I promised Kaiya we would get it fixed. No worries!
The Doll Santa Left
If you notice the date on this picture . . . Santa left the same doll of the TripleM cousins this year! So, they sent us a pictureYes, you can have dolls fixed at places called Doll Hospitals. First, I took her to a little doll store and asked if they could fix her. The lady there was so HONEST! She said she could come up with a way, but that it wouldn't be socketed the original way. While she could do it, she would mail it into Madame Alexanders Hospital. Off we send the cute little doll to the Hospital in December (a week before Christmas)!
I wait and wait and wait . . . no news from the Hospital! So, I start making phone calls to Madame Alexander! Oh suddenly we hear back from them! I was a little peeved because it was not what I expected from Madame Alexander. So, they call to say, they cannot fix the doll, but will send a new one. I specifically ask, "Will it be the same doll?" Their response is it is the same doll, just new!
We wait, wait, and wait . . . finally, the Friday of the third week in January, a package from Madame Alexander appears at our house! Kaiya is bouncing off the walls that her baby is back!! She can't wait! I open the package . . . pull out the doll - - all wrapped in plastic, and Kaiya collapses to the floor! She is crying, "that is not my doll. I want my doll with dark hair." She wants nothing to do with the doll. Prasan and I do everything we can think of to convince her that it is the same doll!! No avail! She wants that doll back in the box, doesn't want to look at it and wants nothing to do with it because she wants the doll with "dark lots of hair."
The EXACT same only NEW according to MADAME ALEXANDER

Can you believe they thought we wouldn't notice??? Hello . . . not even close!
I have attempted to contact Madame Alexander several times. Let me just say that, I got the pass around on the phone till someone finally sent me to the "general message system." I was hung up on once, and finally I got a person's voicemail! She got a really long message because well . . . I am unhappy at this point! I have also e-mailed Madame Alexander with pictures of the original doll and the doll sent to replace it! I just want the broken doll back! I have heard NOTHING from them!
I am afraid . . . I may be at the end of my Madame Alexander doll purchasing days over this! So . . . what would your next step be?? I feel so bad for Kaiya because she took good care of that little doll and had it broken by someone else. She just wants the doll back . . . how hard is that?!
What would you do?
So, I am irritated . . . irritated that they told me one thing when really they didn't deliver or couldn't the same doll. . . irritated that they are not responding . . . and just plain annoyed!!!
I know there are tons bigger problems that people are facing . . . but, I think it has to do with the fact that Kaiya is paying for someone else not being nice to her doll and for a company not being honest, and respectful enough to give me someone to talk to or just respond to me!! I guess this will be the time we might have to learn the hard lesson that life is hard!!

It's so over for them. That is unacceptable.
That makes me SO sad for Kaiya... she just wants her baby. You would think a doll company would know that kind of stuff... I would hit every complaint avenue until I got that doll back, IF they still have it.
I can't stand companies like this. I had a similar experience with a gift I gave Tim... I eventually just called AMEX and they refunded the money then took care of going after the company.
Good luck!
